The pair, who tied the knot back in September 2013, share a six-year-old daughter named Alba.

A representative for the couple said: "After more than 10 years of marriage, musician Adam Clayton and lawyer Mariana Teixeira de Carvalho have amicably divorced.

"Both will continue to be fully involved in the care of their daughter and they request that the family's privacy be respected."

Adam and Mariana, a lawyer, had married in a quiet ceremony at a Dublin registry office in September 2013 after being together for four years.

Their wedding ceremonies included a luxurious reception for 150 guests, including Adam's U2 bandmates Bono, The Edge, and Larry, at a historic French chateau near Cannes.

The pair welcomed their daughter Alba in July 2017 and announced the arrival of their little one through a personal advertisement in The Irish Times.

It said: "Adam and Mariana Clayton are delighted to announce the birth of their beautiful baby girl Alba."

It comes after Gardeners' World fans were left stunned as Adam Clayton appeared on the show with his 'magnificent' garden.

The hit BBC Two series continued on Friday night as viewers tuned in for the Monty Don fix.

But during the show they were left speechless as U2 bassist Adam Clayton appeared on screen.

Presenter Adam Frost flew to Ireland to visit the rock star's garden, which is located just outside of Dublin.

The 17-acre house and adjacent garden is close to the boarding school Adam attended as a child.

Over the past three decades Adam, 64, has planted a staggering 4,000 trees to transform the green space.

'DIFFERENT WORLD'

Speaking about his beautiful space, Adam said: "It takes my mind out of myself. I start to see the colours, see the form and I just go into a different world."

Gardeners' World viewers were seriously impressed by the U2 star's gardener and flooded social media with compliments.

One said: "Lovely piece on @gardenersworld1 about Adam Clayton’s garden in Dublin. He has created a true paradise garden."
