A TEACHER had sex with two schoolboys before giving one of them an “I love my daddy” babygrow when he got her pregnant, a court has heard.

Rebecca Joynes, 30, “groomed” a 15-year-old student by buying him a £345 Gucci belt before they allegedly had sex at her flat after the boy had told his mother he was staying over at a friend’s house.

The maths teacher was on bail after being arrested over that relationship when it came to light she’d been meeting up with another student.

The prosecution claim their “long-term relationship” started when he was 15 and became sexual when he turned 16 and they had sex 30 times.

Joynes later became pregnant and announced the news to the boy by presenting him with a babygrow with the words: “I love my daddy.”

Manchester Crown Court heard how Joynes “groomed” the first student by taking him to the Trafford Centre and CCTV of her buying him the Gucci belt shown to the jury.

Joe Allman, prosecuting, said that Joynes had later driven the boy back to her flat in Salford, where they had sex twice.

Mr Allman said that the boy had told his mother he was staying over at a friend’s house - and mother of his friend had initially played along with the deception - before becoming concerned.

And she had later “berated” the boy “for staying out with informing his mum”.

While at the flat, the boy messaged his friend saying he’d had “just had sex” with Joynes.

And when the friend doubted him, he then send a photo of Joynes lying down - with his friend then taking the claim “more seriously”, Mr Allman said.

Rumours spread among the boys’ friends, the jury heard, and Joynes was suspended by her school in October 2021 after being arrested by police.

The boy told police in an interview that Joynes had given her ten of the 11 digits to her phone number and “challenged” him to guess the other, which he had, and that had led to them messaging each other.

After they’d had sex at her flat, she’d sent him a message with a heart and three kisses.

Joynes was subsequently charged and was due to face trial, the jury heard, when it emerged she had been in a “long-term sexual relationship" with a second student.

Mr Allman said the relationship had begun when the boy was 15 and he went to to her flat twice, where they kissed.

But it became sexual when he turned 16 and he accused Joynes of “brazenly” pursuing the relationship despite being on bail after appearing in court to face charges over the first student.

“She cannot deny the relationship became sexual because she became pregnant and had his child,” Mr Allman said.

And they went on to have sex 30 times, according to the boy.

Joynes is said to have told him that she couldn’t become pregnant because she had polycystic ovary syndrome but she had later announced the news by presenting him with a baby grow as well as a Victoria Secrets’ scratch card containing her sexual fantasies.

Both of them had cried after he told her he didn’t want a baby and he later told his father that Joynes was “jealous and controlling”.

The jury heard that Joynes was initially reluctant to start a relationship with the boy because he was 15.

But phone messages between then became “more flirtatious”.

One he sent read: “Get your t*** out.

And she replied: “Not tonight”. She also sent him a photo of her bum in just her knickers.

Joynes, who was sacked in July 2022, denies four charges of sexual activity with a child and two charges of sexual activity with a child as a person in a position of trust.

The jury heard she denies having a sexual relationship with the first student and claims her relationship with the second student only started after he was 16 and she was no longer a teacher.

The trial continues and is expected to last two weeks.
