Here’s how to rock the new season’s hottest make-up trends
Eye adornment
This OTT, in-your-face style is definitely not for the faint-hearted. Or the office. Mix up dazzling eye jewels with a graphic shadow shape, which you can create by sticking to one shade – the brighter the better. Sleek Makeup i Divine in Ultra Matte V1, £7.99, offers some amazing super-pigmented hues to pick from. After applying the shadow, dot cosmetic glue on to the back of Stargazer Diamond Face Jewellery, £2.25. Let it go tacky for 30 seconds before attaching the gems to your skin. Scatter a few at the outer edge of the eye for a tamer take on the trend, or properly pimp your peepers by applying jewels all over the lid.
All of a flutter
Get lashed, Bambi style. This flirty trend is all about layering lashes so they draw attention without looking too fake. Eylure Naturalites false eyelashes in Glamour, £5.35, will really open up your eyes and enhance your natural lashes. Trim the falsies to fit your eye, apply the eyelash glue to the falsies, leave it to dry for 30 seconds, then push on to your lash line using tweezers. Once in place, add black eyeshadow to blend in the edges of the falsies.
Thin blue line
Simple and chic, blue is the hottest hue right now. It will also help to make eyes look whiter, which makes you look more awake. Bonus! Apply Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Shadow Pencil in Deviant, £14, to the lower waterline and under the bottom lashes. Keep the rest of the eyes natural so the colour does the talking.
The punchy pout
Give your pout clout with this season’s statement lip. First, prep your lips with foundation to cover up your natural colour, so the lippy shade will have maximum impact on your mouth. For a super-bright, high-pigment matt shade, try Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage, £18.50. Feeling brave? Team the look with barely there brows and mascara-free lashes.
