Last night we…saw Wreck-It Ralph!

The voices at the screening

Yesterday,  we were lucky enough to have a watch of Disney’s latest 3D animated film- Wreck-It Ralph! Ralph is a video game villain who decides he’d rather be a hero – but this causes problems for his other computer game friends.  It’s hard to think of anything better than settling down at the Soho Screening Rooms to watch a film, but if you’re thinking that this new Disney movie will feature a pair of glass slippers or your stereotypical princess, then think again…unless your idea of a princess is a nine foot tall, dungaree-wearing, tantrum-prone man, of course.

Wreck-It Ralph has the sort of comic charm that only Disney can pull off. Rich Moore, the master-mind director behind the movie, has done a great job in updating the classic ‘villain to hero’ storyline – because really, who ever finds a knight in shining armour anymore?

There are a couple of easily recognisable voices in the film, including US comedienne Sarah Silverman, and John C. Reilly, who previously starred in Step Brothers (need we say more?) and even Radio 1 presenter, Nick Grimshaw! If you’re a fan of the American hit TV series Glee then you’re also in for a treat because Jane Lynch, or Sue Sylvester as you might know her, makes a rather leathery appearance as a hard edged, femme-fatale.

Overall, if you’re looking for an animated action film with some giggle-inducing twists, then Wreck-It Ralph is just for you. Rated PG, you could even bring the whole family with you…if you don’t mind sharing the popcorn!

Wreck-It Ralph is in cinemas from February 8 2013
