As she celebrated her 39th birthday this week, we thought we would celebrate style legend, top model Kate Moss and look back at her outfits through the decades. From haute to hip, Kate’s tried it all.
1996
Fresh-faced Kate glows in this simple white strap dress with black accessories. As 1990′s as this look is, we wish a dusting of bronzer and lippie would make us look this good.
1999
Sigh. Remember when Johnny Depp and Kate were a couple? They would have had the world’s most beautiful children. The dress is a bit corporate for us – it’s a premiere, love, add a bit of bling – but the bright red lips are very hot.
2001
A new elfin crop, an LBD and a jewel-encrusted clutch. Simples! If only we could buy cheekbones as an accessory.
2006
Whilst at Glastonbury 2006, Kate rocked these tiny silver tweed shorts that ended up being the influence for all our festival outfits that Summer. A waistcoat adds some style savvy to the look, who else could pull off tailoring whilst covered in mud?
2009
This silver foil dress and turban were created by Marc Jacobs for the Costume Institute’s annual gala. The theme was model and muse. We laughed at the turban at the time but then a year later, Topshop were selling them. Clearly the joke was on us.
2011
From red carpet to… the pub. Kate goes for another casual tailored look running errands in Notting Hill. We love the little details: pink swallow print shirt and floppy hat. The 70′s vibe is very much appreciated, Ms. Moss.
Proof that the queen of fashion can still get it wrong. Black string vest and white slip? No, no, no. Added to the fact that we can see her nipples, this is not a look we want to try, thanks.
2012
And she’s back. Phew! This picture kind of makes us want to sing that “hey, sexy lady” bit in Gangnam Style. Red hot and fabulous in Stella McCartney whilst attending a dinner hosted by the designer herself. Fancy.
Glittering in gold at the launch of her own style book, Kate oozes glamour from every pore. A sequinned art deco dress and a tan are apparently all you need – when you’re Kate Moss.
