A gossip with Davina? Don’t mind if we do. We caught up with the 45-year-old TV presenter over dim sum to talk fitness and tit tape.

You’ve got a new fitness DVD out, Davina. Which female celeb bodies do you think are hot?

Cat Deeley has the most incredible figure. Her legs go on forever. If I were her, I would literally live in hot pants and miniskirts. And Madonna gets a lot of flack but she’s very fit and looks amazing.

This is your ninth DVD! What can we expect?

It’s high-intensity training, so you work hard for a short period of time, then you take a break for two minutes, and start again. It kick-starts your metabolism.

Does it help that your husband (businessman Matthew Robertson, 44) is into fitness too?

Definitely. I think I’d be resting on my laurels a bit more if I didn’t have a husband who went to the gym and ate well. When you see someone else working out, it inspires you.

When you’re not with Matthew, what girlie stuff do you get up to?

I have a lot of film nights. I’ve got the world’s biggest, U-shaped sofa, and I can squeeze at least 10 girls on to it. We’ll have popcorn and watch a girlie movie. I’ve just bought New York, I Love You, so that’s next on the list.

How about girls’ nights out?

I haven’t been out and gone mad for ages and really feel the need to. I want to do a club night for over 30s that ends at 1.30am so we can get home at a decent time.

Sounds ideal! Who are your dream dinner party guests?

People who are either great thinkers or great fun. Dawn French has got to be in there because she’s my favourite woman ever. David Miliband is fascinating, and I love Dr Tanya Byron – she’s a psychologist and one of the most interesting people I know. And David Dimbleby, because he’s clever without being an intellectual snob.

What would you serve them?

I’m quite good at risotto, but the thing I do best is loin of pork with crackling.

What are your work plans for 2013?

Got To Dance has started again, and it’s just joyful. There are also going to be new series of Long Lost Family and Million Pound Drop, and I’m in cahoots with Channel 4 on another project.

Busy! Do your kids (Holly, 11, Tilly, nine, and Chester, six) find it weird when people ask for your autograph?

Sometimes I think it’s difficult for them, but they weigh it up. Mummy has to sign a few pieces of paper but they get to hang out with Aston Merrygold from JLS. They know that there are upsides.

What’s been your favourite red-carpet outfit you’ve ever worn?

I wore a black Morticia Addams-style dress to the Q Awards in 2000 and it was very low-cut. The next morning Richard and Judy were discussing where I would have put my tit tape! It was brilliant.

Hilarious! What’s the best thing you’ve blagged recently?

This will sound pathetic, but I said in an interview recently that I ate sugar-free Alpen and they sent me a packet with my name on the packaging. I was so happy. I can never, ever eat it.
