This week, we’ve gone all-out to combat the winter gloom at Fabulous towers, with Lara’s ace Roy Lichtenstein-inspired wraps, and my stick-on Carmen Miranda talons.
I have been hunting for good nail art decorations for a while now, and these little plastic fruit slices from Claire’s were just what I’d been looking for. After applying Sally Hansen base coat, I put a lick of Boots’ 17 Lasting Fix Nail Polish in Tropical Island, for a full-on orange hue. While the polish was tacky, I pushed on a few of the applique nail accessories, left to dry, and applied two thick coats of Sally Hansen Super Shine Shiny Top Coat to secure them in place. The plastic fruit weren’t very easy to stick in place using just varnish, as they kept peeling away from the wet paint. Next time, I’ll definitely try nail glue to keep them in place. Nevertheless, once they’d been tamed they lasted a good few days and got loads of admiring glances.

Keeping with the whole cartoon animation trend as rocked by Katy Perry and little Mix’s Jesy Nelson, she decided to go for these babies and loved them. She’s road-testing them tonight – and we predict she’s going to get hella compliments.
