We’re a little bit in love with gel manis, so were excited to nip off to put Shellac at Aveda to the test…There’s no place quite as relaxing as the Aveda Institute in Covent Garden, it looks, smells and feels amazing. The flagship salon offers up massages, facials and a whole host of hair treats, but we popped in to try a Shellac manicure on Saturday. This special kind of gel manicure, gives you the perfect nails for at least three weeks, plus as soon as they’re done, you are good to go – non of that delicate no-nail touching maneuvers you do for hours after a traditional mani.
We indulged in some serious people watching, enjoy all the comings and goings while supping some very tasty Aveda tea, as our therapist tended to our hobbit-like hands. That’s small not hairy fyi. Chatty and professional, she did an amazing job, in fact such a good job that we nearly bumped into a lamp post on the way home as we were so busy admiring her handiwork.
