We love a good sing-along here at Fabulous HQ, so a trip to see musical Mamma Mia in its new home at London’s Novello Theatre was just up our street…
The show – (based on Abba’s cheesy pop tunes, in case you’ve been living under a rock) – is a feel-good-fest from start to finish.
If you’ve seen the 2008 film you’ll know the story – but it’s even better live on stage – plus it has even MORE Abba songs. Win!
Set on a Greek island paradise, Mamma Mia follows the story of Sophie Sheridan, a young girl about to get married, who’s on a quest to find her real father to walk her down the aisle. Only it turns out he could be one of three different men… awkward.
We particularly loved Joanna Monro as Donna Sheridan’s hilarious old pal Rosie – and Sophie’s trio of dads (played by Neil Roberts; James Gaddas and Gary Milner) kept the laughs coming from start to finish.
Brilliant theatre and an excuse to sing your heart out to Abba’s hits. What could be better?
