Perfect pout
“I love Mac Lip Pencil in Spice, £11.50 (1), as this subtly defines the shape of Emeli’s pout when applied all around the lip line. Using a cotton bud, I blended the line so it became a slightly warmer shade than her natural lip colour. To finish, I dabbed on Stila Convertible Colour in Lillium, £16 (2).”
“Dr Hauschka Rose Day Cream Light, £21.55 (3), nourished Emeli’s skin to give her a smooth base so the make-up could glide on. Then I primed her skin with Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer SPF15, £20, to create a silky film for the make-up to grip on to.”
“To sculpt and define Emeli’s face, I brushed Diego Dalla Palma Sculpture Blush in shade 52, £9.50 (4), underneath her cheekbones, on the outside edge of her nose and around the temples. This gives the face a three-dimensional finish and stops it from looking too flat or one-colour.”
Hint of honey
“For Emeli’s base, I buffed on Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Foundation in Honey Beige, £41.50 (5), with a Mac Duo Fibre Brush 187, £32.50 (6), in small circular movements. Leaving the foundation to settle on the skin for 15 minutes, I then used Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural Powder in Medium Dark, £21. This powder sets the foundation and stops excess shine.”
Pop eye
“I blended Inika Mineral Eyeshadow in Burnt Sienna, £11.75, on to her lids with a Mac 224 Tapered Blending Brush, £22. Then, I used the same brush to add
RMK Dusty Bright Eyes in Grayish Brown, £35, into the outer edges of her eye to create a feline effect.”
Light up
“Nars Immaculate Complexion Stick Concealer in Biscuit, £17.50 (7), is perfect under Emeli’s eyes – to find the most flattering shade choose a concealer two shades lighter than your skin. I applied the concealer from the inner corner of her eyes to the cheekbone, before blending with a Jemma Kidd Pro Blending Brush, £18, for a polished finish.”
Simply smudged
“I used Avon SuperShock Gel Eyeliner Pencil in Black, £6, on the inner rim of her eyes and the top of her lash line. It’s quick to use, easy to blend and very dark. Then I layered on L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Carbon Black, £10.99 (8), to lengthen her eyelashes.”
