Nail wars! Tips vs tie-dye

This week, it’s candy-coated tips versus a super-simple marble-paper effect.

Lara has pulled off something I’ve never been able to do, and painted on perfect French tips. The Christopher Kane runway at London Fashion Week was full of pastel and candy hues, and Lara’s taken that to the next level with her cute nail look. For the base, she used Maybelline Forever Strong Pro Nude Polish for the base, and Barry M polish in Mint Green, Barry M polish in Berry, Barry M polish in Yellow and OPI That’s Berry Darling for the pink tip. To achieve the look, make sure the polishes for the tips are not too thick or they won’t go on and sit right on the nail.

This marbled look was pretty much the easiest thing I’ve ever done – quicker, easier and better looking than nail wraps, even. To do this, I picked American Apparel varnish in Neon Violet (dark purple), Topshop nail polish in Parma Violet (pale purple), and Max Factor nail polish in Cactus Green (the green shade, obvi). I dropped on thick blobs of each colour over all five nails, then used an old eye make-up brush to roughly smudge them together. I sealed with a few coats of clear polish to create a smoother surface.
