What happens when you get a load of soap stars, TOWIE folk, assorted media types and Keith Lemon all at the same party? One almighty booze fest, that’s what.
Last night at The Dorchester hotel on Park Lane – Lady Gaga’s favourite place to stay in the capital, no less – the champers was in full flow (and then some) as we celebrated the very best of what’s on the telly box.
Friend of Fabulous Michelle Keegan scooped Best Soap Actress for her role as Tina McIntyre in Corrie and, bless her, was still trembling with shock when we popped over for a congratulations hug.
Other big winners were Ant and Dec who bagged two awards – one for I’m a Celeb and another for Britain’s Got Talent.
Doctor Who got Best Family Drama while Best Entertainment Show went to Celebrity Juice and prompted an unrepeatable acceptance speech from Mr Lemon which involved Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield and an, um, compromising position.
Hosted by Jo Brand, who put Jeremy Kyle firmly in his place in what was one of the evening’s highlights, the ceremony descended into predictable bad dancing and general drunkenness.
Best spot for picking up gossip? The smoking area, of course. Several p*****-up celebs chuffing away all huddled into a very small doorway round the side of the Dorchester makes a very good breeding ground for tittle tattle. At one point we found ourselves in a Gemma Collins and Shane Ritchie sandwich while Ant McPartlin looked on.
Just your average Monday night, then.
