What was your favourite book as a child? I loved all the classics, and even now I find myself going back to them when I need a bit of ‘comfort reading’. So when I saw that Random House are launching a new series of Vintage Children’s Classics, I knew I’d love them all!
From The Secret Garden and Peter Pan, to more modern favourites such as The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas and The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time, the series boasts 20 books, with more to follow by the end of the year.
All the books contain extra material such as quizzes and facts about the author, and there’s even a website, with loads of interactive material on all the stories – see Worldofstories.co.uk. Best of all, each book has a pretty spine colour and a cute cover design – I especially love Adam Stower’s illustration of the Psammead on the front of Five Children And It and Rohan Eason’s wolves pic on the cover of The Wolves Of Willoughby Chase – so they’ll look fab on my bookshelf. Perfect for children and big kids alike!
