Anatomy of a face…Holly Valance

Want to get a Holly Valance-style glow? Make-up artist Rachel Singer-Clark reveals how she created it

First flush

“For a rosy golden finish, I dusted Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Highlighter in Rose Illumination, £23, on the apples of Holly’s cheeks.” (1)

Give it a curl

“Gorgeous lashes are a great way to draw attention to the eyes, so before applying any mascara I used Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers, £20, to create the perfect enhanced curl.” (2)

Turn up the volume

“I applied Bourjois Volumizer Mascara, £10.49, to amplify Holly’s lashes. For even greater impact, I added some single flare false lashes to the outer edges of her eyes.” (3)

Staying power

Laura Mercier’s Invisible Loose Setting Powder, £29, really helps make-up stay put. I lightly brushed it across Holly’s face, concentrating on the T-zone area.” (4)

Line it up

“I gently smudged Elizabeth Arden Smoky Eye Pencil in Espresso, £13.50, into Holly’s lash line to really make her eyes stand out.” (5)

Lush lips

“To create the perfect pout, I used Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide Ultra Lipstick in Tulip, £18. This colour is great for creating a soft, feminine look, which is very on trend right now.” (6)

Hint of tint

“I prepped Holly’s brows, lashes and lips with Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant, £25. It’s perfect for defining brows and making lashes look thicker. Next, I applied tinted moisturiser to her face with my fingertips, giving a flawless base.” (7)
