What we did last night… saw Russell Kane’s Edinburgh preview

Ooh, July is a treat of a time to be a comedy fan.

It’s the run up to the Edinburgh festival when every comic is putting finishing touches to the show they’ve spent the best part of the last year sweating, crying and bleeding over. Or crafting, if you prefer.

But before they take it up to Bonny Scotland (and Edinburgh really is very bonny), they’ve got to road test it. To make sure that it’s, y’know, funny.

So, now’s your chance to watch the best comics in the biz trying out their new material in really intimate venues.

There were just 40 people crammed into the tiny Pleasance Theatre in North London last night to watch Russell Kane do his stuff in a sneak preview of his Posturing Delivery show (in which he pontificates to hilarious effect about his male broodiness and imagines what kind of father he’d be) ahead of his two-week run in the Scottish capital.

A rare opportunity to see one of the country’s biggest comedy stars perform within touching distance.

We resisted the urge to touch, FYI. Although Russell is strangely sexy.

Our verdict? Totes gigglesome. We loved it!

Oh, and Russell? We’ll have your babies.
