As the popularity of fairytale movies grows, Angelina Jolie’s latest role is definitely one to get excited about. Disney’s Maleficent is due to be released in the US next year and with this first glimpse of her wicked character’s look, we decided to have a look back come of Ange’s best and worst outfits.

Angelina Jolie’s red-carpet wardrobe has been as dramatic as her love life with extreme phases of dress disasters and showstoppers. Supporting her father Jon Voight’s acting career, Angie quickly became familiar with the red carpet and even in her youthful, pre-acting days, she dressed to be noticed.

Back in 1996, Angie married the gorgeous Jonny Lee Miller, allegedly while dressed in black rubber trousers and a white top displaying the groom’s name in blood – hmmm, bad omen? As if that wasn’t bad enough, at the 72nd Annual Academy Awards she dressed like this – and snogged her brother!

At the 2001 Annual Academy Awards, she ditched her trademark Goth look, opting instead for this Dolce & Gabanna white suit. Complete with white cowboy boots. We’re not sure on this one…

And in 2004 Ange stole the show in another all white stunner. Designed by Mark Bowers, this dress really showed off more of her glam side, as did the $10 million necklace by H. Stern! Now that’s more like it Angie.

Not usually one for a colourful outfit, Angie managed to amaze her audience in Cannes in 2008, despite being heavily pregnant with twins. Max Azria was the designer of this stunning green gown, and only Ange could look so elegant while carrying twins.

Here she is earlier this year at her most glamorous in a sexy black velvet Atelier Versace gown which received a LOT of Twitter attention, with accounts being set up dedicated to Angie’s right leg.
