Celebrity make-up artist Armand Beasley tells us how he created red-carpet sparkle for Michelle Keegan
Brow belle “I perfected Michelle’s brows with YSL Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown, £19, shading the brow by starting from the highest point of the arch and working inwards towards the nose. Then I softly shaded the tail of the brow. To finish, I sprayed an eyebrow brush with hairspray to smooth the hair.” (1)
Flawless finish “I applied Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in Shade 4, £34, using a foundation brush, blending from the nose outwards. I then used Givenchy Mister Light Corrective Pen in Mister Toast, £22.50, around her eyes.” (2)
Pretty in pink “I kept Michelle’s lips simple, just using a slick of Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF15 in Air Kiss, £14.50.” (3)
Oh-so glow “Michelle’s natural tan was enhanced with Fake Bake Airbrush Instant Self Tan, £27.95, and I used Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Medium, £26, to chisel her cheekbones. Finally, a dusting of Sisley Phyto Blush Éclat Duo in Pinky Rose, £46, gives a pop of colour on the apples.” (4)
In the prep “A thin coat of Sheer Cover Base Perfector, £13.95, on Michelle’s skin works as the perfect primer. It absorbs excess oil while creating a smooth surface for her make-up.” (5)
Intense line “Black kohl gives the perfect smouldering effect for the red carpet. I lined Michelle’s eyes with Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Eye Pencil in Smoke, £17.50.” (6)
Shady lady “I prepped Michelle’s lids with Artdeco Eyeshadow Base, £8.50, and pressed on Mac Pro Longwear Eyeshadow in Thru The Night, £16.50. I then blended the pale shades of Estée Lauder Pure Color Five Color Eyeshadow Palette in Blue Dahlia, £35, at the inner corner and drew a flick with the darker tone.” (7)
