Party FYI. This summer Team Fabulous are heading to Ibiza to pull together a sunny issue for you and to host a VIP Hedkandi party. So we caught up with our party’s DJ, Neev, from KISS FM to find out all about her island antics…
We’re so looking forward to having you join the Hedkandi DJs at our party on June 16 at Es Paradis, Neev. What’s your fave thing about being a DJ?
Getting to play people music that I love. It’s such a great feeling seeing people react to my sets, to get a whole club dancing and smiling. These days things in life can be really hard and you get down but music is such a release. You can get lost in it, which is amazing. I also a kick seeing how much people enjoy what I pick for them and being given high fives on the dance floor. Or people tweeting me saying I made their night.
Ever had any embarrassing DJ mishaps?
Djing is such a technical thing and sometimes the equipment can let you down. A turntable will just stop working or your mic will pick up feedback. They’re all regular mishaps but mixing high heels and doing gigs can be a tricky one too. I tried to make my way to a very high-up DJ booth at a club a few months back and stacked it in front of 2,000 people. Luckily minutes later a dancer did the same thing!

What are you looking forward to most about DJing at the Fabulous/Hedkandi party?
I can’t wait to be out in Ibiza for this special night and am already thinking about the set, not to mention the outfit. Hedkandi put on some of the best nights on the island and with it being the 10th year anniversary it’s going to be very VIP. Plus I’m looking forward to seeing all the glitz and glam on show while playing alongside the gorgeous Laura on Saxophone. Bring on the party!
Do you have any top DJing outfits?
Really sparkly things and usually asymmetric shaped dresses or flowing materials. I dance a lot in my set, so love the drama that these kinds of styles create. I tend to go really glam with my makeup too to give that striking look for the booth. But more than anything I need to be comfortable enough to mix for hours. Brands like Lipsy do some fab frocks, I love Guess denim shorts and for skirts I splurge at Biba.
What are your summer beauty must haves?
*A good tinted moisturizer with SPF it’s so much lighter for summer and gives that dewy effect
*A glittery bronzing powder. I tend to crush up an old one and combine it with my moisturizer for glow to go.
*Some really fab hair products. The sea and pool can be a nightmare for your hair esp when it comes to styling it for those all important nights out. I use a hair mask or oil regularly over the summer to keep my hair safe from the sun
*Nail varnish. There’s nothing worse then putting all that effort in and then realizing you forgot to sort out your nails. Neons are hawt this summer.
