Pro make-up artist Alex Babsky tells us how he created Alexandra Burke’s look
Touch up “I used YSL Touché Éclat Radiant Touch in No.5, £25, as a concealer and to highlight Alexandra’s face. It’s also a great product to freshen up make-up when it starts to look a little dull over the course of the day.” (1)
XXL Lashes “For Alexandra’s eyes-wide-open look, Liz Martins Enhance Strip Lashes, £4.20, are the perfect falsies. I glued them in place then bound them to her own lashes with two coats of MUA Professional Extreme Volume Mascara in Black, £2, for a natural finish.” (2)
Lip-luscious colour “I applied a couple of coats of MUA Lip Boom in Vibe, £3, straight from the lipstick bullet. Then I added a tiny amount of shimmer to her cupid’s bow and out along the upper lip line for extra fullness.” (3)

Get set “A dusting of Nars Loose Powder in Mountain, £26.50, gives Alexandra’s base an even tone. I then used Guerlain Terracotta Moisturising Bronzer in 02, £33.50, over her cheekbones to add warmth.” (4)
Back to basics “I prepared Alexandra’s face by cleansing it with Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water, £25, which is really gentle and hydrating on her skin. I then applied Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick in Warm Almond, £27, with a sponge to help it blend and ensure an even finish.” (5)
On the line “I find the easiest eyeliner to work with is Fashionista Fashion Secret Gel Eyeliner in Style, £7. Unlike wetter products, which you pretty much need to get right in one go, it gives you added playtime to perfect the line before it sets.” (6)
Natural beauty “Alexandra has expressive, beautifully defined eyes, so I really didn’t have to spend time on complex contouring or shaping. I used the deepest shade in YSL Ombres 5 Lumieres Eyeshadow in Tawny, £42, along her lower lash line, lid, and into the socket.” (7)
