Happy weekend! Now, what are you gonna do with it? Here are our top tips for the best stuff to do, wherever you are… aren’t we nice to you?
1.The Great Escape
You can catch sultry songstress Lianne La Havas, as well as Maximo Park, We Are Scientists and loads more ace bands at Brighton’s too-cool-for-school indie festival this weekend. Plus you can check out loads of hot muso guys in leather jackets. And eat fish and chips, obvs.
Until Sunday, venues around Brighton (Escapegreat.com)
2. Costumes from Jane Eyre
Did you love 2011′s Oscar-nominated Jane Eyre? Us too. And now the costumes Mia Wasikowska and co wore are on display at Haworth, the real-life home of the Brontës. Go get your period fix now.
Until September 20, Haworth, West Yorkshire (Bronte.info)
3. Real Food Market
London foodies should pop along to South Bank and get their teeth stuck into all sorts of street food goodies, from Portuguese cuisine to Chinese and traditonal English fodder. A perfect day-date venue, no?
Today and tomorrow, South Bank, London (Realfoodfestival.co.uk)
4. Judy’s Vintage Fair
Rummaging for vintage treasures is one of our fave things to do, ever. And we like it even more when there’s a whole trove of gems in one easy place. Less effort, more shopping. Judy’s Vintage Fair tours the country and this weekend it’s in Manchester, Maidstone AND Bournemouth. Does Judy have a helicopter?
Today, Manchester, HMV Ritz and Maidstone, Hazlitt Theatre and tomorrow, Bournemouth, Hotel Piccadilly (Judysvintagefair.co.uk)
5. Simon Amstell
We still haven’t got over Simon leaving Popworld. Best. Presenter. Ever. And that is really, really sad because it was SIX YEARS ago now. Eek. But those in Nottingham can catch him live this weekend, and he’s on tour nationwide until June. Yay!
Sunday, Nottingham Playhouse (Allgigs.co.uk)
