Where The May Fair Hotel, London
So, Amy, is your new line of clobber for people who want to look like you?
Definitely. There’s a few dresses that are Essex. I’ve got a bit of bling, but there’s some classy stuff, too.
Who’s buying it?
I’m trying to appeal to everybody. I had someone on Twitter the other day who’s 65 and she wanted to get my black Bridgette dress. I said: “Good on you”.
Who are your style icons?
Victoria Beckham. I think she’s brilliant. I love Mollie King from The Saturdays, and I adore Nicki Minaj – she’s unique.
Have you ever been out on the town in jeans and flats?
Never. When I was at school, I always got told off for wearing high heels. I had to have platforms on my shoes.
Or left the house without make-up?
No. I probably would, though. [Pauses] If I could put a bit of bronzer on first.
Your last TV series, Channel 5′s It’s All About Amy, isn’t coming back. Are you worried?
Oh my God, my show was only an eight-part series. It wasn’t axed. There’s been a few people who want me to do shows, but I’m just taking it easy and need to make the right decision.
Did you feel that anything was missing from the last series of TOWIE?
Entertainment. Banter. I love TOWIE. It made me. But it needs a character for the public to love. It’s lost its touch.
Ouch. What are your thoughts on the Kirk Norcross and Frankie Cocozza bromance?
I love the pair of them together. Kirk came into my salon the other day. He’s a good friend.
Your lack of general knowledge is a running joke. Do you try to keep up with the news more?
My mum says I’ve got to. I’m not interested, but I’ve tried to be. Ask me a question about politics and I probably won’t have a clue.
Do you know who the Prime Minister is yet?
Yes! It’s David Cameron.
Amaze. How’s your salon?
Busy. We have bookings nine weeks in advance. One girl came over from Ireland just to have her nails painted.
What has been your worst ever experience as a beautician?
At college, we had to do an eyebrow tint. I put blue-black dye on someone’s eyebrows thinking it was black. Can you imagine if it was a real client?
Have you ever had to massage or wax any really hairy men?
I’ve massaged skinny, overweight, hairy and sweaty men, but I love it. I’ve never done a back, sack and crack, though.
Phew! Who would you love to get your beautician hands on?
It’s going to sound bitchy but I’d like to give Cher Lloyd a nice bit of exfoliating. I really don’t mean it horribly, but she needs an Amy Childs spray tan. I’m only looking out for her!
What’s the capital of France?
Paris. Yesss!
