A prohibition atmosphere, lively performances and scantily-clad waitresses -
the newly-launched cabaret night at Proud Camden, north London, definitely
made for an interesting night out.

The burlesque-style dance performances ranged from the glamorous and subtly
seductive (think Dita Von Teese, complete with nipple tassels), to the
downright outrageous – we’re talking pink PVC suits, and, er, props…

Round booths were packed with guests, creating real group camaraderie, which
only improved as we pored over chef Edwin Mendoza’s gorgeous canapés, rich
sea bass and mouth-watering chocolate fondant dessert (not to mention just a dash
of red wine).

If you’re looking for an alternative night out in London, Proud Cabaret Camden
steals the best in show crown and dances provocative circles around it.

But be warned, male companions may lose all ability to engage in conversation
after the first glimpse of flesh…

  • The newly-renovated Proud Cabaret Camden is open for dinner every Wednesday –
Saturday. For more information visit Proudcamden.com/kitchen
