Get lashed “For Karen’s wide-eyed separated lash look my fave
waterproof mascara is Maybelline Volum’ Express One-by-One, £8.49 (1).
I always curl the lashes before applying mascara, making sure the tip’s not
too overloaded with product. Slowly stroke the brush from the roots of the
lashes in a vertical motion, and then repeat.”
Bright-eyed wonder “One solid colour is perfect for 20-somethings such
as Karen. Apply Bobbi Brown’s Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Beach Bronze, £17
(2), using a synthetic brush with a short square head, in sweeping
strokes over the eyelid.”
Banish bags and blemishes “Undereye circles are banished by Bobbi Brown
Corrector, £17. Blend with your fingertips, then apply Bobbi
Brown Creamy Concealer, £17 (3), a shade lighter than your skin
tone, to any blemishes.”
Lay it on… thin “For max staying power, it’s important to use a
long-lasting foundation. Dior Flawless Perfection Fusion Wear Makeup in
Ivory, £29.50 (4), will keep skin nourished for hours. I find
liquid or cream make-up is always better applied with fingertips as warmth
helps it glide on in a thin layer.”

Freeze the base “The red carpet walk is a long affair so I always start
with a good base, which will keep make-up in place for hours. This means a
primer, such as DHC Velvet Skin Coat, £14.50 (5), sealed with
Shu Uemura Face Powder Matte, £26.50. Afterwards, warm your
hands then place them on your face to settle the base.”
Coming over flushed “Get Karen’s glow with Bobbi Brown Blush in Tawny, £18
(6). Use a round brush such as Japonesque’s Natural Pro Blush Brush, £27,
for a smooth finish.”
Paint the line “To achieve this strong liner look, use a felt-tip
eyeliner like Barry M Wink Black Marker Pen For Eyes, £4.59 (7).
They’re easy to control for a fine line and very black in colour. For a
straight line, rest your elbow on a flat surface to steady your hand.”
