1 Genius gel

This hybrid from the States is part polish, part gel. It’s applied like
polish, set under an LED lamp for 30 seconds – and the best bit is it won’t
chip for at least three weeks.
2 The layered look

Nail technician David Barton says: “Layering is huge. Put purple polish on
black for a two-tone look.”
Get it on: Maybelline Express Finish in Onyx Black and Forever Strong
in Atomic Violine, £3.99 each.
3 Molten magic

Minx was all the rage at the PPQ shows. The high-impact foil films are
heat-set to your nails for a metallic finish.
Get it on: Minx in Golden Lightning, from £25, at salons.
4 Glitter ball

Don’t save glitter for Santa – start now! Apply three coats of varnish,
dabbing the third in to any gaps.
Get it on: Nails inc All That Glitters Set, £20 for three shades (Park
Lane, Chelsea Square and Electric Avenue), out October 5.
5 The suede effect

Last season was all about matt, this season it’s suede. OPI is leading the way
with seven suedey shades from brown to purple.
Get it on: OPI Suede Effect Nail Lacquerin You Don’t Know Jacques!,
£9.95.
