Indiba Deep Beauty, from £55 for a 45-minute treatment.
What is it? Time to get physics-al! Indiba emits radio waves through
coin- sized electrodes that a therapist moves over your skin. These waves
trigger a pro-ionic effect, which means they charge up the particles in your
body – a bit like jump-starting a car – helping tissues break down fat cells
at zippy speed.
The claim In trials, 82 per cent of testers had less visible cellulite.
The verdict Zoë Upcraft, 32, tried Indiba to blitz her bumpy bum. “I’d
describe my derrière as dumpy – making tight clothes a no-go. But after
three sessions, the lumps were less obvious and the crease below my bum
cheeks felt lifted and more defined. It isn’t a cheap option (six-12
sessions are recommended), but it is soothing, so lie back and let science
take over.” 8/10
Functionalab Beauty Doses Body Toning Supplements, £32 for a 30-day supply.
What is it? Fresh from the US where it’s an A-lister’s staple,
Functionalab beauty supplements give a body boost when your processed-food
diet lets your bum down.
The claim Contains anti-cellulite ingredients such as flaxseed to
improve blood flow and collagen to tighten skin tone.
The verdict Flavia Jones, 30, wanted to tighten her post-weight-loss
thighs. “Since I started losing weight in January, my cellulite’s more
noticeable. After eight weeks of taking the pills my legs look smoother and,
because the pills boost your metabolism, I’ve lost weight too. I’ll keep
exercising and taking the pills” 9/10
Dr Jules Nabet Slimming Act, £85.
What is it? OK, gross alert! This wobble buster in a bottle packs
ingredients which help to dissolve and digest fat (a process called
lipolysis) and then botanical extracts to encourage drainage. Sounds yucky,
but then it’s hello smooth skin!
The claim It mimics the effects of injectable cellulite fighters, but
without the pain.
The verdict Jenny Hills, 34, tried the cream after exercise failed to
help. “I’m naturally slim, but can’t shift the sprinkling of cellulite on my
hips and bottom – no matter how much I exercise. I used it for two weeks,
twice a day and my skin was smoother and softer, but the cellulite didn’t
disappear completely.” 7/10
Soulmate Food Murad Inclusive Health Menu, from £30 per day.
What is it? According to dermatologist Dr Murad, creams are only
responsible for 20 per cent of skin health – the other 80 per cent comes
from what we put in our bodies. This new, home-delivered diet aims to get
cells holding water instead of fat, and is packed with skin boosters like
eggs, raw veg and berries.
The claim Skin can become 78 per cent firmer after eight weeks.
The verdict Rowan Waller, 28, ate her way to a bikini body. “The food
arrives twice a week. Portions are good and brekkies of soya yoghurt, museli
and fruit were yum. In two weeks I lost 2lb, 1cm off each thigh and my legs
feel smoother and more toned. Some days there were no carbs, which I craved
because I exercise a lot and usually eat them. But overall, it was great.”
10/10
Guinot TechniSpa Double Slimming, Firming and Lifting Treatment, from £66
for an hour.
What is it? Part of a new generation of medi-style massages, a
therapist runs a suction machine over your body then kneads your dimply bits
with two mini metal rolling pins. This gets your circulation pumping,
breaking down fat cells.
The claim Expect an average loss of 1.5cm from your waist and 0.6cm
from thighs after one session.
The verdict Clemmie Cunningham, 28, needed a quick fix before her
honeymoon. “The massage was tingly rather than traumatic and my skin tone
improved after one session. Guinot recommend 10 sessions, but while it was a
treat, unless you’re wealthy, it’d be hard to justify the expense.” 6/10
Comfort Zone Body Strategist+ Patch, £39.50 for 28 patches.
What is it? Like a nicotine patch but for legs, stick one of these
3cm-wide patches on the top of one of your thighs. Wear it for 24 hours,
then peel it off and apply a new one to your other leg. Keep alternating
legs (for a month, ideally) to absorb a cellulite-fighting army.
The claim Will reduce cellulite in four weeks.
The verdict Alex Game, 25, wanted to lose her orange-peel feel. “I was
determined to have a sarong-free holiday this year. I wasn’t convinced about
the patch at first, but I stuck with it and began seeing results after four
weeks.” 8/10
Use these top orange-peel-fighting buys twice a day and spend at least 30
seconds massaging in – no excuses!
